Why it’s important to involve a lawyer for your release
- Without registering the raport in the unit, it is considered not submitted and has no force.
- A lawyer’s request forces the commander to provide an answer within 5 days.
- An unlawful refusal is challenged in court only within 15 days.
- Legal support speeds up the release process by several times.
- Most servicemen don’t know that the wife’s third group of disability is grounds for release.

Grounds for release from military service in 2026
The law clearly defines who has the right to return home. If you have at least one of these reasons, you are not obliged to remain in service.
Command often interprets the rules their own way, but the law has higher authority. We prove the availability of grounds with documents.
Release for health reasons
This means that the Military Medical Commission (VLC) has recognized you as unfit for service. If health issues are ignored, you may be sent to the front despite real illnesses. We help you obtain the correct conclusion, and if necessary we involve a lawyer for VLC-related matters to challenge unlawful decisions.
Release due to family circumstances
This includes care for sick relatives, disability of your wife, or disability of parents. Without the correct package of certificates, the raport will simply be returned. We collect all medical conclusions and care acts so that the unit has no chance to refuse.
Release for parents with many children
Servicemen who support three or more children under 18 have the right to be released. If you do not provide birth certificates and proof of support, you will be kept in the ranks. We form an indisputable document package for a quick order.
Release due to disability of relatives and care
This is the most common, but also the most complicated category of cases. Staff lawyers often require extra certificates or refuse due to the existence of other able-bodied relatives.
We know current court practice and we force the unit to accept documents without invented requirements.
Disability of the wife
Even the wife’s third group of disability gives the right to be released. Commanders often say that this is not enough and require certificates about the need for care. This is unlawful. We have successful experience in proving this in courts—for example, release due to the wife’s disability, 3rd group.
Care for parents or your wife’s mother (mother-in-law)
The law allows release if your wife’s parents have disability, 1st or 2nd group. Often they refuse, citing that your wife’s mother has other children. We prove your right to be released, as it was in the case of release due to the disability of your wife’s mother.
How to start working with YURKONSALT on your release
- Prepare the documents. Collect all available VLC certificates, marriage certificates or children’s birth certificates, relatives’ pension documents, or care acts.
- Describe the situation. Briefly state your status (mobilized or contract serviceman) and the reason you plan to seek release.
- Hand over the materials to the lawyer. Take clear photos or scans of the collected documents and prepare them for sending.
- Write to us in chat. Write to us in Telegram or Viber — the initial consultation is free. Send any available documents, and the lawyer will preliminarily assess your situation and tell you whether there are prospects for release.
Procedure for submitting and reviewing a raport for release
Writing a raport is only 10% of the work. The main thing is to make sure it receives an incoming number and goes to be processed, and does not end up in a desk drawer.
We monitor every stage of the document’s movement from your hands to the signature of the brigade commander.
How to correctly draft a raport
The raport must include a clear reference to the article of the law and a list of attachments. If you write it arbitrarily, that gives the commander a reason to return the document. Use our instruction on writing a raport for release from the Armed Forces of Ukraine to avoid mistakes at the start.
Registration in the unit
Without registration in the incoming correspondence journal, the raport legally does not exist. If you simply handed it to the company commander, it may disappear. We teach you how to correctly record the submission, or we do it through a lawyer’s request.
Decision acceptance timelines
The law gives the commander up to 30 days to review the documents. If you wait for months, your rights are violated. We record the delay and submit complaints to the higher headquarters.
What YURKONSALT does for your release
- We analyze the documents. We determine the real prospects of the case and check the completeness of medical certificates.
- We prepare the raport. We draft text that meets all legal requirements and includes the necessary references to articles.
- We monitor the review. We submit lawyer’s requests so the documents do not get lost in the unit.
- We appeal refusals. We force the command to act through complaints to the higher headquarters or an administrative court.
- We support the case. We stay in contact with the unit until the issuance of the order to exclude you from the unit’s lists.
What to do if the command ignores the raport
You submitted the documents, but in response there is silence. This is a typical delaying tactic that thousands of servicemen face.
We break through this wall of silence using lawful but firm methods. The commander is forced to respond.
Lawyer’s request
This is an official document from a lawyer that the military unit is required to answer within 5 days. If it’s easy to ignore an ordinary raport, then ignoring a request entails liability. This is the fastest way to move the case off dead center.
Complaints to higher command
If the brigade is silent, we contact the Operational Command or the Ministry of Defense. When an order comes from above to sort it out, local commanders quickly find your raport and make a decision. You get a lawful result.
Cost of legal assistance for release
You must clearly understand what you are paying for and what prospects you have. We work transparently and do not charge for cases that cannot be won.
Everything starts with an honest assessment of your situation.
Free initial consultation
Write to us in chat and send any available documents. The lawyer will assess the prospects of your case for free. We do not take on the work if we do not see legal grounds for release — this protects you from unnecessary expenses.
Full consultation and support
If the case has prospects, we schedule a full paid consultation. At it, the lawyer thoroughly analyzes all certificates and builds a step-by-step strategy. Further support until the release order is issued happens at a clearly agreed price without hidden payments.
